About Gizmobench
Small tools that each do one job properly, with local file processing and no account needed. This page says who makes them, how they are checked, and what you can count on.
Who makes it
Gizmobench is made by one independent maker, not a company. There is no team page because there is no team: one person chooses which tools to build, writes them, tests them, and reads the mail that arrives through the contact page.
How the tools work
File processing and calculations run on your device. IP lookup sends the address you enter to our server, which reads a dated DB-IP Lite dataset without a per-lookup request to the data provider. Each tool describes its data flow, capabilities and limits. Every tool's core job is available without an account.
How the tools are tested
Each tool keeps its logic in a module that never touches the browser, so it can be tested the way arithmetic is tested. The suite holds several thousand automated tests and runs before every release: the birthday on a leap day, the base64 that has to survive emoji, the barcode checked against a real decoder, the JSON that must keep a long number intact, the error that has to change when the input changes.
A release also has to pass a publish gate that fetches every tool page from the live site and checks what a search engine would see: one heading, a title and description, a canonical address, structured data, and the questions and answers present in the HTML rather than added afterwards. If any page fails, the release does not stand.
Why the numbers are honest
Every tool carries one short accuracy line under its answer. It is not a legal disclaimer. It says what the tool is exact about and what it cannot know: the number-base converter is exact and says so; a body-fat estimate names the formula it used and tells you a measured instrument beats it. The line on the page is the same string the tool's code exports, and a test fails if the copy ever drifts from it.
Where a calculation has a choice of method, the tool shows its working, or shows two methods that disagree, so a number never reads as more precise than it is. And anything a person might act on in a way that risks their health, safety or money is not built here at all, however many people search for it.
Free where it counts
Every tool’s core job, the thing you came here to do, needs no account, no trial and no watermark, and that will not change. If professional extras like batch processing arrive later, they will sit alongside the free tool rather than in front of it.
