Does changing units change my garden?

No. Geometry is stored in metres. Switching to feet changes displayed values and labels without rescaling the objects. Dimensions you enter in feet are converted using exactly 0.3048 metres per foot.

How are areas calculated?

Rectangular footprints use width times height. Elliptical and plant-symbol footprints use pi times width times height divided by four. Labels have no footprint. Category and object totals are sums, so overlaps are counted more than once; these are not estimates of uncovered land or plant canopy.

Can I move several objects together?

Yes. Select multiple objects in the object list and group them. Moving any grouped part moves the whole group while keeping relative positions. Numeric controls and arrow keys provide alternatives to dragging. Undo and redo restore complete plan states, with up to 50 recent states subject to the local history memory budget.

What is saved and exported?

Touched plans are saved in this browser under this tool's local key. Project JSON includes object geometry, labels, groups, layers and settings. SVG, PNG and print include visible layers; hidden objects remain in the editable project. The page's Start over control clears the local save. Storage restrictions may prevent saving, so downloadable JSON is also available.

Can the plan include objects outside the boundary?

Yes. Out-of-bound objects are explicitly listed and remain visible in the full drawing and exports. Moving them does not silently crop or resize them. The plan remains a schematic based on the dimensions you supply.

No. Plant and furniture symbols are original drawing shapes. The planner provides no planting calendar, yield, irrigation, structural or fire-safety advice. Printed dimensions are descriptive; browser scaling can change the physical size of the print.

The editable project budget is 5,000 objects and eight million JSON characters. PNG preparation is limited to 16 million pixels and reports when a smaller width is needed. Failed imports or exports preserve the current in-memory plan.
