Can I use my own image?

Yes. Choose a local image and the tool draws it in the browser. The original file is never overwritten or uploaded.

Can I put two pictures in one meme?

Yes. Choose Two images, stacked or Two images, side by side under Layout, then choose a first and a second image. Each picture is centre-cropped to fill its half of the canvas without stretching, and the captions sit on top of both.

Can I edit captions independently?

Yes. Each caption has its own text, x and y position as a percentage of the canvas, font size, text colour and outline colour. Add up to four and remove any you do not need. Undo restores both caption text and position.

Will my picture be stretched or resized?

No. With one image the preview uses the exact canvas dimensions that will be downloaded, so an 800×600 image stays 800×600 until you change the canvas controls. A canvas of another shape centre-crops the picture rather than stretching it, and switching layout never stretches it either.

Which meme fonts can I use?

Impact, the classic white meme lettering with a black outline, is the default. Arial, Comic Sans MS, Times New Roman, Courier New, Georgia and Verdana are also listed. The canvas uses the copy of the font installed on your device; if one is missing, the browser draws a similar fallback font.

Can I make a meme with a white or black background?

Yes. Choose Caption bar above image to put the picture under a strip for your text. The strip starts white with black text unless you have already changed those colours; set Background to black or any other colour and pick a text colour that reads on it. With no picture, the whole canvas is that background colour.

How do I make a speech bubble meme?

Set Speech bubble to Transparent cut-out and download a PNG: a bubble with a tail is cut out of the top of your picture, so it shows as transparent in apps and pages that keep PNG transparency. White draws the same shape in white instead. JPG has no transparency, so a cut-out bubble comes out white in a JPG.

What format can I download?

PNG preserves the canvas pixels without JPEG compression and keeps a transparent speech bubble. JPG is smaller and uses a high-quality JPEG encode on a white backing; both use the dimensions shown in the canvas controls.

Are my captions saved for next time?
