Packing Checklist Planner
A packing checklist you can reuse, organized by traveler and by bag. Each item has a quantity and a packed count, so 2 of 3 pairs of socks reads as 1 left to pack, and ticking stops at the number you set. Each bag's weight is plain arithmetic on the weights you type, and an item with no weight marks that total as partial instead of counting it as zero. Print or save a PDF checklist for each bag, export the list as JSON or CSV, and copy it for the next trip with every packed count back at zero.

Add an item
Quantity is how many to take; the packed count can never go above it. Leave the weight blank if you do not know it: the bag total then says partial instead of counting it as 0. Up to 1,000 items per list.
Travelers and bags
An item belongs to one traveler or is shared, and sits in one bag. A bag's own weight is the empty bag; its total adds each item's quantity times its weight.

Starter items
A starting point, not a recommendation: everyday clothes and accessories only, one set per traveler (or one shared set when the list has no travelers), all with unknown weights. The rule for the quantities: a per-day item starts at one for each day of the trip, which is nights plus one, and stops at 7; every other item starts at the count shown. Change any number afterwards.
| Item | Category | Starting quantity |
|---|---|---|
| T-shirts or tops | Clothing | 1 per day, nights plus 1, up to 7 |
| Underwear | Clothing | 1 per day, nights plus 1, up to 7 |
| Socks, pairs | Clothing | 1 per day, nights plus 1, up to 7 |
| Trousers, skirts or shorts | Clothing | 2 for the trip |
| Jumper or sweater | Clothing | 1 for the trip |
| Sleepwear | Clothing | 1 for the trip |
| Jacket | Clothing | 1 for the trip |
| Shoes, pairs | Clothing | 1 for the trip |
| Belt | Accessories | 1 for the trip |
| Sunglasses | Accessories | 1 for the trip |
| Hat | Accessories | 1 for the trip |
This list and your saved lists
Up to 30 lists are kept in this browser while it has room for them. Copy for a new trip keeps every traveler, bag, item and quantity and sets the packed counts back to 0; the original keeps its ticks.
Tick the box to mark an item fully packed, or use the minus and plus buttons to count one at a time. Drag a row onto another bag to move it, or onto a row of the same category to put it before that row; from the keyboard, Alt with the up or down arrow moves a row within its category, and Edit opens the form where the bag, traveler, quantity and weight change. Lists are kept in this browser; nothing is uploaded and no account is asked for. The PDF uses a built-in font that covers Western European letters; for any other script, Print and choose Save as PDF.

Common questions
- What goes on a packing checklist?
- Whatever you are taking: this page does not decide it for you. The optional starter set is everyday clothes and accessories only (tops, underwear, socks, trousers or skirts, a jumper, sleepwear, a jacket, shoes, a belt, sunglasses and a hat). Anything else you add yourself, under categories you name, such as Toiletries or Electronics.
- How many clothes to pack for a week?
- That is your call; the starter only gives a first count from one stated rule: tops, underwear and socks start at one for each day of the trip, which is nights plus one, and stop at 7, so any trip of 6 nights or more starts at 7 of each. Every other starter item starts at a fixed count shown in the table on the page. Change any quantity to suit your trip.
- How is each bag's weight worked out?
- The empty bag's weight plus each item's quantity times its weight each, in kg, g, lb or oz. A 2 kg bag holding three items of 0.2 kg comes to 2.60 kg. If the bag or any item in it has no weight entered, the total adds only what is known and is marked partial, naming how many items are missing. It does not know any airline's allowance.
- Can each person have their own list?
- Yes. Add travelers, then give each item to one traveler or mark it shared. Two rows with the same name for two people stay separate, so ticking Maya's socks leaves Sam's alone. Under the board, each traveler's items still to pack are listed with their own Copy button.
- Can I print a packing checklist?
- Print this bag prints one bag's checklist with a box for each item, and Print all bags puts each bag on its own page. PDF, this bag saves a PDF on A4 or Letter paper. The PDF uses a built-in font that covers Western European letters; for names in other scripts, use Print and choose Save as PDF in the print window.
- Is my list saved, and can I move it to another device?
- Your lists are kept in this browser's storage, up to 30 lists of up to 1,000 items each while the browser has room (browsers keep about 5 MB for a whole site), and nothing is uploaded. Export .json saves a file you can import on another device with the same items, packed counts and travelers. Export .csv opens in a spreadsheet. Clearing this browser's site data removes the saved lists, so export any you want to keep.
- How do I reuse a list for the next trip?
- Copy for a new trip makes a new saved list with the same travelers, bags, items and quantities and every packed count at 0, and the original keeps its ticks. Unpack all sets the counts back to 0 on the list you have open.
It organizes the plan you type in: what is left to pack and each bag's weight are plain arithmetic on your own quantities and weights, and an item or bag with no weight stays unknown, so that bag's total is marked partial instead of counting it as zero. The starter and example items are everyday clothes and accessories only; it knows nothing about entry rules, airline baggage allowances or the weather, and it cannot tell you a list is complete.
