Tablecloth Size Calculator

Enter your table dimensions and desired drop per side. Compare finished cloth sizes across drops, preview the geometry, and export dimensions in inches, centimetres or millimetres.

Table and chosen drop

Drop is the extra cloth beyond each table edge. Enter the finished drop you want; the calculator adds it on both sides. Changing input units reinterprets all entered values; changing result units converts them. Dimensions accept positive values up to 1,000,000, with six decimal places; drop can be zero.

Compare up to 20 drops, separated by commas or spaces. Repeated values appear once. The defaults are arithmetic examples, not recommendations. Leave blank to hide comparison rows.

Finished rectangle cloth dimensions80 × 50 in

With 10 in of chosen drop per side.

60 + 2 × 10 = 80 in
30 + 2 × 10 = 50 in

Finished dimensions exclude seams, hems and shrinkage allowance. Converted labels round to six decimal places, so very small positive values may display as zero. Calculate from original measurements rather than rounded labels.

Scroll horizontally on narrow screens. The shaded outer shape is the finished cloth laid flat; the inner shape is the table. This does not simulate hanging fabric or corner drop. Extremely narrow proportions may appear as a line at this scale.

CSV includes the chosen drop and every comparison row in the selected result units. SVG includes dimensions and the preview notes.

Exact decimal addition for supplied dimensions and drop; converted labels round to six decimal places. Geometry only: oval dimensions describe axis endpoints, and fabric drape, hems, shrinkage and irregular furniture are not modeled. Inputs stay in your browser and are not automatically saved.

Common questions

How do I calculate tablecloth size?
Add twice the desired drop to each table dimension. A 60 × 30 inch rectangular table with a 10 inch drop needs finished cloth dimensions of 80 × 50 inches. A square uses the same calculation on both sides.
What size cloth fits a 60 inch round table with a 12 inch drop?
Use cloth diameter = table diameter + 2 × drop. With a 60 inch table and a 12 inch drop, the result is 84 inches in diameter. This describes a centered circular cloth and table.
How is oval tablecloth sizing different?
The calculator adds twice the chosen drop to the oval’s length and width. Those are axis-endpoint dimensions. An ellipse enlarged this way does not have an equal offset along its entire curved edge, and real oval tables may have different outlines. The diagram is a schematic, not a fabric drape simulation.
What drop should I choose?
Enter the finished overhang you want beyond each edge, based on your own measurements and intended appearance. The comparison values are editable arithmetic examples, not standard sizes or recommended drops. This tool does not infer table height or corner hanging.
Are seams, hems or shrinkage included?
No. Results are finished cloth dimensions before any separate allowance for sewing, hems or shrinkage. These depend on fabric and construction details that are not supplied to the calculator.
Can I convert units and compare drops?
Yes. Input units apply to every entered dimension and comparison drop; changing them reinterprets those numbers. Result units convert the output to inches, centimetres or millimetres. Compare up to 20 drops and select a row to update the preview. Converted labels round to six decimal places; extremely small positive values may display as zero.
Can I save the results?
Download a labeled SVG diagram, a CSV containing the chosen drop and all comparison rows, or a text summary. Inputs remain in your browser and are not automatically saved. No account is needed.
