Comic Strip Maker
Arrange a comic strip from your own images, captions and original geometric speech or thought bubbles. Set a pixel canvas and print size, move entire panels with their contents, and use the same clipped, ordered composition for the preview, PNG and PDF. Save an editable project with its artwork embedded.

Panels and layers
Back-to-front layer order. Images preserve their aspect ratio. All artwork and text clip to their panel edges in the preview and files.

Use a layer’s Edit button or select its box on the canvas. Every pointer action also has a numeric or order control.
Page, panels and local projects
Reducing the panel count removes later panels; Undo restores them. Page changes keep the layer coordinates. Up to 16 million canvas pixels, 16 million pixels per image and 32 million embedded image pixels. Projects use up to 48 million characters; Undo keeps up to 50 edits within a 96 million character budget.
Your draft and embedded artwork are saved in this browser after edits. Save JSON for a portable, complete copy. Text uses this device’s sans-serif fonts; review glyphs and clipped-text notices before export. PNG and PDF use the same rasterized text as the preview.

Common questions
- How do I make a comic strip with my own pictures?
- Select a panel and add a local PNG, JPEG or WebP image. Choose Cover to crop it to the layer box or Contain to show the whole picture without stretching. Add captions and speech or thought bubbles, then adjust positions, sizes, rotation and layer order. The tool does not generate a story or provide licensed character art.
- Can I move a speech bubble without moving where it points?
- Yes. The bubble body and its pointer target have separate panel coordinates. Dragging the body, changing its x or y, or rotating it keeps the text and pointer target unchanged. Use the pointer target fields or drag the teal target to move the pointer separately.
- What size are the PNG and PDF exports?
- PNG uses the exact canvas width and height in pixels. PDF contains one rasterized page sized from those pixels and your pixels-per-inch setting. For example, 900 by 300 pixels at 150 pixels per inch makes a 6 by 2 inch PDF. Text, images, clipping, hidden layers and rotations use the same renderer as the preview.
- Can I reopen and edit a saved comic?
- Yes. Save project JSON stores panel order, layer IDs, hidden layers, text, image fit, pointer targets and the actual image data. Open that JSON to continue editing on another compatible browser. A bad project or failed image decode leaves the current composition intact. Your edited draft is also saved in this browser; if its storage is full, the editor keeps your work in memory and asks you to download JSON.
- How do panels, hidden layers and undo work?
- A strip has 1 to 20 panels in a grid with your chosen column count and gutter. Moving a panel earlier or later moves its contents with it. Hidden layers remain in the editable project but are omitted from PNG and PDF. Undo and Redo retain up to 50 edits within a bounded memory budget. Reducing the panel count removes the later panels, and Undo restores them.
- Why is some text or artwork clipped?
- Every panel clips artwork at its edges. Text also clips to its caption or bubble box; a notice identifies overflowing text so you can enlarge the box or reduce the type size. Unicode and line breaks remain in the project. Rendering uses the device’s sans-serif fonts, so review the preview for missing glyphs before export. A font missing a character may show a replacement symbol.
- Are my pictures uploaded, and how large can a project be?
- Artwork and projects stay in the page and local browser storage. This editor makes no image-service requests. It accepts still PNG, JPEG and WebP images, with up to 16 million decoded pixels per image, 32 million image pixels per project, and 16 million canvas pixels. The editable project has a 48 million character working-memory budget. Resize large images if they exceed those practical limits; animated formats and SVG or HTML artwork are refused.
