Unicode uppercases the ligature և as the two letters ԵՒ; lowercasing those two letters produces եւ, without inventing a ligature. The additional small letters turned ayb and yi with stroke have no uppercase pair.

Will backspace split a combined character or emoji?

Toolbar backspace and delete use the browser's Unicode grapheme segmenter. They remove a whole cluster, including combining marks, emoji families or flag pairs. On-screen insertion and selection case changes expand a partial cluster selection to whole graphemes. If the segmenter is unavailable, mapped keys and toolbar editing are disabled with an explanation; native text entry remains available.

What exactly is copied or downloaded?

The complete text is normalized to NFC, and the exact normalized output is shown below the editor. Copy uses that string; TXT is UTF-8 without a byte-order mark. NFC can compose equivalent decomposed sequences across scripts but does not translate or change spelling. The editor itself preserves the entered sequence until an explicit edit. The editor accepts up to 256 KiB of UTF-8 and rejects broken Unicode or unsupported control characters without truncating input.

Is my text stored or uploaded?

Text and settings are saved locally after user edits when browser storage is available. Restoring a draft does not generate or transform it. Undo history is kept only in the current page, with at most 100 entries per direction and a shared memory bound. The tool does not upload text, request a remote typing service or download fonts. Character names were checked against Unicode 17.0.0.
