How do you play Spider Solitaire?

Build runs from King down to Ace in one suit. Any card can go on a card one rank higher, whatever its suit, and any card or run can go into an empty column, but only a run of one suit moves as a group. A complete King-to-Ace run of one suit is removed automatically, and removing all eight wins. When you are stuck, deal ten more cards from the stock, one onto each column.

What is the difference between 1, 2 and 4 suit Spider Solitaire?

All three use 104 cards. One suit uses eight sets of spades, two suits use four sets each of spades and hearts, and four suits use two full standard decks. With fewer suits, more of your builds share a suit and can move together, which makes 1 suit the gentlest and 4 suits the hardest. Changing the number of suits starts a new deal.

Can I undo moves in Spider Solitaire?

Yes. Undo takes back one move or deal at a time, as far back as the original deal, and it puts back any run that was completed and removed. Use the Undo button, or press U, Ctrl+Z or Cmd+Z while the game has focus.

Why can't I deal from the stock?

A deal needs at least one card in every column, so move a card into any empty column first. The only exception is a table with fewer cards than columns, which could never fill them all. After five deals of ten the stock is empty.

Can I replay the same Spider Solitaire deal?

Yes. Every deal has a seed, a whole number from 0 to 4294967295, and a new random deal gets one from 1 to 999999. Type a seed with the same number of suits and you get the same deal, card for card. Copy puts the seed and every move on the clipboard.

Is every game of Spider Solitaire winnable?

Not necessarily. Deals are shuffled without checking for a solution, so a deal is not guaranteed to be winnable. When no card can move and the stock is empty, the game says so, and you can undo to try another line or start a new deal.

Is my game saved if I close the page?

Deliberate deals, moves and undo save the seed, suit mode and complete action list in this browser when storage is available. Returning to the page reads the record without rewriting it. Unknown fields are retained, and an unreadable or different saved game stays unchanged until you press Forget saved game.
