The images are decoded by this browser and the document is written in this tab with pdf-lib, so a receipt or a passport scan never leaves the device and there is no upload step to wait for. Each picture is scaled to fit inside the margins with its proportions kept, so nothing is stretched or squashed, and on Auto the orientation is decided for each page separately, which is what makes a mixed set of upright receipts and a wide whiteboard photo come out right. A file this browser cannot decode is named and skipped while the rest still build, and a picture with see-through areas stops to ask which background colour to place it on, because a PDF page has none of its own.

Common questions
- How do I turn several photos into one PDF?
- Drop the pictures onto the stage, or press Add images and choose them. Each one appears in the Images panel with its shape and its size, and the Pages panel fills with one page per picture, in the same order. Use the up and down buttons beside a file name to change that order, set the paper size, the orientation and the margin in the readout, then press Download PDF. The file downloads straight away and is also listed as a link with its page count and size, so you can save it again without building it twice. The PDF is named after the first picture in the list.
- Can I choose the paper size and the margins?
- Yes. Paper is Letter (612 by 792 points, which is 8.5 by 11 inches), A4 (595.28 by 841.89 points, which is 210 by 297 mm) or Fit image, which sizes each page to the picture itself at 96 pixels to the inch. The margin is typed in millimetres and is the same on all four sides. With Fit image the page grows by the margin rather than eating into the picture, so the picture lands at its own size with the margin exactly around it. Each page preview says the page size and the resolution the picture is printed at, in dots per inch, so you can see what a bigger margin costs before you build the file.
- Will my landscape photos be rotated or squashed?
- Neither. The scale is one number applied to both sides, so the proportions survive every paper size and margin: nothing is stretched, and because the picture is fitted whole rather than filled to the edges, nothing is cropped either. On Auto, the page follows each picture's own shape, so a wide photo gets a wide page and an upright one gets an upright page in the same document. Portrait and Landscape override that for every page if you want a single shape throughout, and a picture that does not match the page it is given is still fitted whole, with the leftover space as background.
- What happens to a PNG with a transparent background?
- It asks you first. A PDF page has no transparency, so a see-through picture has to be placed on some colour, and picking one quietly would change how a logo or a signature looks. Any PNG, WebP, AVIF or GIF is checked for see-through areas when you add it, and if one is found the picture is tagged in the list, a Background control appears with White, Black and a colour of your own, and the download waits until you have chosen. That colour is then painted as the whole page, so the margins and the see-through parts match.
- Are my images uploaded anywhere?
- No. The pictures are read in the page, decoded by this browser, redrawn onto a canvas and written into a PDF here in the tab. There is no endpoint to send them to, and no picture byte is passed to analytics or error reporting either. Nothing about their contents is written to your browser's storage: the only things this page remembers between visits are the paper size, the orientation and the margin.
- Which picture formats work?
- PNG, JPEG, WebP and AVIF, plus anything else your browser can decode, which on current browsers includes GIF and BMP. The document is written with pdf-lib, which embeds PNG and JPEG images, so every picture is redrawn and re-encoded as one of those two on the way in: a PNG or a GIF is written losslessly, because those are usually screenshots, scans or line art where a lossy pass shows around the edges of text, and a JPEG, WebP or AVIF is written as a high quality JPEG, because it is already a photograph. A file that is not a picture, or one the browser will not decode, is listed by name with the reason and left out while the rest still build.
- How many images can I put in one PDF, and how big can they be?
- Up to 50 images, 50 MB in total and 40 megapixels each. Those are the bounds this tool works within rather than a paid tier: the whole document is assembled in the tab's memory, and a bound stated up front is better than a browser tab that runs out of memory halfway through. Pass one and the page says which limit it was and the number that passed it, and nothing is quietly dropped to make the rest fit. One more ceiling is worth knowing: a picture over 16 megapixels is redrawn smaller, as a whole so its shape is kept, because that is roughly where a browser canvas stops drawing. For the usual camera shapes that is still around 400 dots to the inch on a Letter page, above the 300 a photo print uses.
- Can I reorder or remove pictures before building the PDF?
- Yes. Every picture in the list has a move earlier button, a move later button and a remove button, each labelled with the file name, so the whole list is operable from the keyboard and focus follows the picture you moved. The page previews and the page count update as you go, and a long build can be cancelled while it runs: cancelling stops before anything is written, so there is no half-finished download to throw away.
