Meta Description and Title Character Counter
Count SEO copy with the meta-description preset selected. Switch the Limit control to Title tag to compare a title with its 60-character drafting guide; the description guide uses 160 characters. Google measures snippet space by rendered width and may rewrite text, so neither count guarantees that a search result will show the whole draft.

Every count
The rule each figure was counted by, so you can tell which one a platform means.
Preset limits
X uses weighted length and SMS uses encoding-based segments. The other presets compare visible characters with a drafting limit; the destination may count differently. Track one to see the room left under that check.
Keyword density
The words used most, as a share of every word in the text. A short list of stop words such as the, and, of and to is left out, so the terms you are actually writing about come to the top.
Write a sentence or two and the words you lean on most appear here.
Character and letter frequency
The 100 most frequent entries, with counts and percentages. Letters are normalized and folded to lower case; All characters keeps case, emoji, digits, punctuation and whitespace. Character order preserves case in All characters mode.

Common questions
- How many characters should a meta description contain?
- The preset uses 160 as a drafting reference, not a Google-enforced character limit. A useful description may be shorter. Rendered width, device and the search result can change what is displayed.
- Can this count title-tag characters?
- Yes. Select Title tag in the Limit control. It uses a 60-character drafting reference while the ordinary character, word and byte totals remain visible.
- Does the tool measure snippet pixels or preview Google results?
- No. It counts text. It does not measure font widths, predict truncation or simulate Google’s final snippet.
- Does it check SEO quality or generate copy?
- No. It measures the text you supply. It does not score relevance, promise rankings, insert keywords or write a title or description for you.
Characters are counted as visible Unicode grapheme clusters, with UTF-16 units, code points and UTF-8 bytes shown separately. X uses weighted length and SMS uses encoding-based segments. Other preset limits are visible-character drafting guides; the destination platform decides what fits.
