Why does the X count differ from the visible-character count?

X uses weighted length. CJK characters and emoji contribute two units, while a detected URL contributes 23 regardless of its displayed length. The general Characters figure instead counts visible Unicode grapheme clusters.

Does this check longer posts or an X bio?

The preset checks the standard 280-unit post reference. It does not validate Premium long posts, account-specific limits, bios, threads or the final acceptance of a post.

Can I count Twitter words as well as characters?

Yes. Words, unique words, sentences and other totals stay visible alongside the weighted X count. A word count does not determine whether a post fits.

Will this publish a tweet or send my draft to X?

No. It counts in the browser. You copy or edit the draft yourself; there is no X login, API call or publishing action.
