vCard to CSV Converter
Paste complete vCards or open one or more UTF-8 .vcf files. Each contact becomes a CSV row, with common fields in columns and original property lines retained in Additional properties. Review the preview and formula-protection count, then download CSV.
Changing direction clears the current converter input.
vCard input
Adds an apostrophe before cells starting with =, +, - or @ after whitespace. This changes those values, including + phone numbers. Import CSV columns as text to keep leading zeros.
One row per card. Repeated fields get numbered columns. Additional properties retains original lines and parameters; unsupported values are kept there without decoding. This is not a lossless round trip.
CSV preview
Paste complete cards or open .vcf files to see the CSV.
Reverse mode reads UTF-8 vCard 3.0 and 4.0, up to 10 MB total, into one CSV row per contact. It unfolds lines and reads common text fields. Original property lines, including parameters and unsupported values, are retained in Additional properties. It does not decode photos, binary values, quoted-printable or vCard 2.1, produce LDIF or an Outlook-specific CSV, or update an address book. Formula protection prefixes an apostrophe to potentially active spreadsheet cells and reports the number changed.
Common questions
- How do I convert a vCard file to CSV?
- Open .vcf files or paste complete BEGIN:VCARD through END:VCARD blocks. Review the CSV preview, then choose Download CSV. Supported input is UTF-8 vCard 3.0 or 4.0, up to 10 MB total. The page rejects malformed input before enabling export.
- Can I convert several vCard files on a Mac?
- Select multiple .vcf files in Open .vcf files. The browser combines their contacts into one CSV. This also works in current Windows, Linux and Android browsers. No converter installer is supplied, and no address book is updated.
- Will this export every vCard value?
- Common name, phone, email, address, organization, website, birthday and note values get columns. Repeated fields receive numbered columns. Original property lines, including parameters and unsupported values such as photos, remain in Additional properties. Binary and encoded values are not decoded, and this is not a lossless round trip or an Outlook-specific CSV.
- Why does a phone number start with an apostrophe in CSV?
- Formula protection prefixes cells whose first non-whitespace character is =, +, - or @. That includes international phones starting with + and yearless birthdays starting with -. The preview counts changed cells. Turn protection off to export original values, and import columns as text in a spreadsheet to retain leading zeros.
Converts contacts between CSV and vCard 3.0 and 4.0 using files up to 10 MB. CSV to vCard keeps phone numbers as text with leading zeros, escapes text values and folds lines at 75 octets without splitting a character; failed rows are listed with the reason. vCard to CSV reads UTF-8 common text fields, retains original property lines in Additional properties and rejects malformed cards before export. It does not look anyone up, verify contact details or change an address book. Review the preview and import the file yourself.
