How does an easy grader calculate a test grade?

Subtract the number wrong from the total, divide the correct score by the total, and multiply by 100. Three wrong out of 25 is (25 − 3) ÷ 25 × 100 = 88%. The calculator accepts wrong points as well as wrong questions when each point should have equal weight.

Can I use half points or partial credit?

Yes. Enter a decimal wrong score, such as 1.5 wrong out of 20 total points: 18.5 ÷ 20 × 100 = 92.5%. Choose Half points for a chart at 0.5-point increments. The chart also includes the exact all-wrong endpoint when the total is not a multiple of its increment.

Can I print an easy grader chart or save it as PDF?

Print score chart opens the browser dialog for the chart page shown. Choose a printer or Save as PDF if the browser offers it. The chart contains total, scale, increment, score range, correct answers, percentages and letters. Long charts have Previous and Next page controls; print each range needed. This is a browser print handoff, not a downloaded PDF or a claim that a file was saved.

Can I grade a 12-question, 15-question or 50-question test?

Enter its total in Total questions or points. Every wrong score in the chart is calculated from that denominator, and the selected wrong score gives an immediate result above it. For questions worth different numbers of points, enter points rather than question count or use Points mode with the actual earned and possible scores.

Can I change the letter scale or use this for essays?

Choose Plus / minus or Whole letter and the score chart redraws. The two displayed percentage scales are fixed conventions; use your syllabus if its cut-offs differ. This tool calculates from scores you enter. It does not read an essay, evaluate answers, apply a rubric or produce feedback automatically.

Is student data uploaded or saved?

Scores are calculated in this browser. Explicit edits are saved locally in this browser; no student names or scores are uploaded. A page’s example preset does not overwrite saved choices until you edit their fields. Clearing browser data clears the local draft.
