Facebook Cover Photo Collage Maker

Make a collage for a Facebook cover photo. This page opens on the Facebook cover shape, 820 by 312, which is how a cover shows on a computer, with the pictures side by side in a row. Switch to Grid to stack them in rows, or Feature to give one picture a large block. Each picture is cropped to fill its cell rather than stretched, and the pictures are decoded and drawn in this browser tab, so nothing is uploaded and there is no account.

Lossless, so every pixel is kept as drawn, and the format that can keep a clear background. The download size follows the largest picture you dropped in, so a collage of phone photographs saves far bigger than it looks on this screen.

Common questions

What size is a Facebook cover photo?
Facebook's help pages give 820 by 312 pixels as the size a cover shows on a computer, and 640 by 360 on a phone, where the left and right edges are trimmed off. This page uses the 820 by 312 shape, so keep faces and words away from the far left and right pictures if most of your visitors are on phones. Facebook has changed these sizes before, so check the preview it shows before saving the cover.
How big is the file?
Bigger than 820 by 312. The longest side follows your largest picture, so a cover made from phone photographs saves several thousand pixels wide in the same shape, and Facebook scales it down. The exact size is printed under the collage before you download.
How many pictures work in a cover?
Three to five in a Row read well at cover size; beyond that each strip is narrow and only a band from the middle of each photograph shows. Grid stacks them in rows instead: two rows for three to six pictures, three rows for seven to twelve. The tool takes up to twelve.
PNG or JPEG?
Either uploads. JPEG gives a smaller file, and PNG keeps every pixel as drawn. Pick the White or Black background rather than Clear: a cover is not meant to be see-through, and Facebook may fill clear areas with a colour of its own.

The file you download is the canvas at the pixel size printed under it, at full resolution rather than the size shown on screen, and photographs are rotated to match their own orientation tag so a phone picture is not saved sideways. Your pictures are decoded in this tab and never uploaded, and a small source picture cannot be made any sharper than it already is.
