5 x 5 Letter Grid Game
Hunt for longer words across a larger letter grid. Trace touching tiles, including diagonals, or type each word. Qu supplies two letters from one tile. When the round ends, choose any missed word to see its path.
Find words in a grid of letters
Drag, tap or type words through touching letters before the clock runs out, then see every word you missed.

New board draws a fresh grid and shows its seed. Type a seed to play that grid again or pass it on: the same seed and grid size always give the same letters. Settings apply to the next round. A round you leave stays in Your rounds, and a timed one keeps running to its end time.
The letter distribution
Every cell is drawn from this table, in tiles per hundred, written for this game. A grid is drawn again until between a quarter and a half of its cells are vowels (A, E, I, O, U) and no tile appears more than 2 times on a 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 grid, 3 times on a 5 x 5 or 4 times on a 6 x 6. On a 4 x 4 grid that means 4 to 8 vowels. Q only comes as Qu.

Common questions
- What does this preset change?
- It selects a 5 x 5 grid, a 3-minute round and a 4-letter minimum. Use New round to change those settings before starting. Your settings and rounds here are remembered separately from the main game page.
- Is this an official Big Boggle board?
- No. This is an original solo letter-grid game. Its letters use this site's own distribution, and words are checked against the public-domain ENABLE English list. It does not reproduce boxed-game dice or provide a multiplayer room.
- How do I compare scores on the same larger grid?
- Choose a seed and share it together with the 5 x 5 size, time limit and shortest-word setting. Each person plays separately. The same seed and size deal the same letters; there is no shared score table.
- Can I practise without a timer?
- Yes. Choose No limit under Time before starting. End round finishes the round and reveals the missed words. A timed round keeps running when the tab is hidden.
Words are checked against ENABLE, a public-domain list of 172,823 English words, so some slang, names and recent words are missing and some rare words are accepted. A word must run through touching cells, diagonals included, with no cell used twice. The letters come from this site's own published letter distribution, not the dice of any boxed game, and rounds are solo and saved in this browser only.
