Markdown to HTML Converter
Paste Markdown or open a local Markdown file to generate HTML source. This page starts in HTML source view, so you can inspect the fragment before copying or downloading converted.html. The export keeps original heading levels and supported GFM structures; scripts and unsafe raw markup are removed. Switch to Preview to inspect the rendered result.

Common questions
- How do I convert a .md file into HTML?
- Use Open Markdown file or drop the file onto the page. HTML source updates from the supplied text; Copy HTML and Download HTML use that sanitized fragment. The download has an .html filename, but does not add a full page template, stylesheet or bundled assets.
- Can it convert Markdown tables and code blocks?
- GFM tables become HTML tables, task lists become checkbox-list markup and fenced code becomes pre/code content. Original heading levels remain in exported source. There is no code syntax highlighter or math, Mermaid, footnote or executable MDX extension.
- Why is unsafe raw HTML missing from the output?
- DOMPurify sanitizes the result of marked’s GFM parser before source display, preview and export. Scripts, event handlers and unsafe targets can be removed. Sanitized output is not a byte-preserving HTML conversion and should still be integrated into your destination’s own rendering policy.
- Does it create a styled website or HTML email?
- It creates an HTML fragment. It does not add a website layout, GitHub stylesheet, email CSS, client testing, sending service or a hosted share link. Copy the fragment into your existing page or use the .html download as a starting file.
- Can I convert HTML to Markdown in this view?
- No. This mode accepts Markdown and outputs HTML. Use HTML to Markdown for the reverse direction.
- Is conversion uploaded, and do remote images get fetched?
- Markdown parsing and sanitization happen in this browser. Source view displays HTML text. Switching to the rendered Preview can load images referenced in the document, and opening the downloaded HTML can do the same. Assets are not bundled into the download.
Uses marked’s GFM parsing and DOMPurify HTML sanitization. Preview headings are demoted one level; copied and downloaded fragments keep document heading levels. Footnotes, TeX, Mermaid and executable MDX are not implemented.
