2 Times Table
The trick for the 2 times table is to double: 2 × 7 is 7 + 7 = 14, so anything you can add to itself you can multiply by 2. This page opens the multiplication table with the 2 row lit, writes out 2 × 1 to 2 × 12 = 24 with the working for each fact, and prints as a clean sheet.

- To multiply by 2, double the number: 2 × 7 is 7 + 7 = 14. Take 2 × 9: 9 + 9 = 18.
- What is 2 × 12?
- 2 × 12 = 24. Double 12: 12 + 12 = 24. Or split it, double the 10 to get 20 and double the 2 to get 4, then add them.
- What pattern do the answers in the 2 times table follow?
- Every answer is even, so it ends in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8, and the endings repeat in that order: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20. An odd number never appears in the 2 times table, which is a quick way to check an answer: if you get 15 for 2 × something, it is wrong.
