Recipe Scale Calculator

Enter the original and wanted servings, then edit or add ingredients. The 4-to-6 example changes 250 g flour to 375 g, 300 ml milk to 450 ml and 2 eggs to 3. A smaller wanted serving count scales the recipe down.

Scale a collection

Recipe amounts

Multiply every supplied amount by wanted servings divided by original servings. Units stay as entered. These entries are not saved.

Servings multiplier: 1.5.

  • Flour: 375 g
  • Milk: 450 ml
  • Eggs: 3 eggs

Decimal amounts only: write 0.5 for one half. Results are rounded to eight significant digits; fractional eggs are left fractional. This scales quantities, without converting units or adjusting cooking time, temperature, pan shape or ingredient behaviour.

Accuracy. Supplied recipe amounts use proportional arithmetic, displayed to eight significant digits. Solar model values are approximate NASA reference measurements scaled by one common linear factor.

Common questions

How does the recipe multiplier work?
Wanted servings divided by original servings gives the multiplier. Multiply each ingredient amount by that same number. For 4 servings changed to 1, the multiplier is 0.25 and 2 eggs become 0.5 eggs.
Does it convert cups to grams or change cooking instructions?
No. Unit text stays exactly as entered. Decimal quantities are scaled together; the form does not convert units, round eggs to whole eggs, choose ingredient substitutions or adjust time, temperature, pan shape or cooking behaviour.
Can I enter fractions and save a recipe?
Enter decimal amounts, such as 0.5 for one half. The form supports up to 40 ingredient rows and does not save them. Results display eight significant digits; small amounts can use scientific notation.
