Echo Voice Effect
This page opens the voice changer on its Echo chain, a single feedback delay mixed half and half with the dry voice. Your voice plays at its own level, then comes back 250 ms later at 0.2 of that level, then at 0.08, each repeat 0.4 times the one before. The render keeps going after the recording ends until the repeats fall below -60 dB, which for this setting is eight repeats, so the download is 2 seconds longer than what you recorded. Record a clip, open a file or try the built-in voice, compare dry and wet, and download a WAV. Delay time, feedback and mix are all editable, and the audio stays in this browser tab.

Effect chain
The voice runs through these in order, top to bottom. Every change renders again straight away. Arrow keys step a field up or down; Enter or leaving the field applies what you typed.
- keeps a band around the center, unity gain there
- off: when on, it multiplies by a sine at 80 Hz
- tanh(drive x) / tanh(drive): full scale stays full scale
- echoes kept until they fall below -60 dB, 5 s at most
- 5 Mix50% wet, 50% dry
- 6 Ratepitch 0.00 semitones, length x1.00: they move together
- off: the level is left exactly as the chain makes it

}Open a recording up to 50 MiB and 5 minutes, record one here, or try the built-in voice, which is synthesised in this tab. Press Play or Space to hear it, and the Preview chip to switch between A, the recording as it came in, and B, the effect chain, at the same moment. Download WAV writes the finished result B plays as 16-bit PCM. Nothing is uploaded, and only the chain settings are remembered in this browser, never the audio.
Common questions
- How do I change the echo?
- Three controls do it. Delay time sets the gap between repeats, from 1 ms to 1,000 ms; 100 ms is a quick slap, 250 ms is a clear echo, and 500 ms or more sounds like a canyon. Delay feedback sets how much of each repeat comes back, from 0.05 to 0.9, so it decides how many repeats you hear. Mix sets the balance between the dry voice and the delayed chain: at 50% the voice stays at full level and the first echo is 0.5 x 0.4 = 0.2 of it.
- Why is the downloaded file longer than my recording?
- Because the last words still have echoes to play. The render carries on until a repeat would fall below -60 dB, one thousandth of the level. With feedback 0.4 that is eight repeats, since 0.4 to the power 8 is 0.00066, and at 250 ms apart that is 2 seconds of tail. A higher feedback or longer delay gives a longer tail, up to a 5 second ceiling, where the page fades the last 50 ms instead of cutting it off.
- What is the difference between echo and reverb?
- An echo is a few distinct copies you can count, spaced far enough apart to hear each one. Reverb is thousands of reflections arriving so close together that they blur into one decaying wash, the sound of a room or a hall. This page makes echo with one delay line. For a room sound, use the audio reverb tool.
Deterministic effects, not AI: in the same browser, the same recording and settings always give the same WAV, echoes are kept until they fall below -60 dB (5 seconds at most), and clipping is counted rather than hidden. Changing the rate moves pitch and length together, and there is no neural voice conversion, cloning, accent change, disguise of who is speaking or live microphone routing. Audio up to 50 MiB and 5 minutes is decoded in your browser after a format check and is never uploaded.
