8 Letter Wordle Solver
This page opens the solver on an eight-square grid. Type each eight-letter guess, colour the squares as your game showed them, and the panel searches the 28,420 eight-letter words in the ENABLE dictionary for the ones every clue still allows. The squares are smaller on a phone so that a whole guess fits on one line.
Fetching the ENABLE word list, 1.7 MB. This happens once, and every search after it runs here in your browser.
A tile takes a letter from the keyboard and cycles grey, green, yellow when you press it. Arrow keys move around the grid, backspace clears, and Escape empties the row you are in. A row counts once all eight of its letters are typed, so a half-finished guess never narrows the list behind your back. The Letters buttons set the word length, and each length keeps its own board. On a touch screen, use the letter keys above: each one types into the square with the ring around it, and a key goes dim once a guess has ruled that letter out.

Common questions
- Why does the opening list stop partway?
- All 28,420 eight-letter words start out possible, and the panel lists the first 300 alphabetically while counting the rest. Mark a guess and the count drops; once it is 300 or fewer, every remaining word is listed, and with at least three left a line above the list names up to three of them that leave the fewest words on average.
- Does an eight-letter word with a repeated letter work?
- Yes. Repeated letters are counted, not guessed: if a row shows one copy of a letter yellow and another grey, the answer holds exactly one copy, and the readout's Counted cell says so.
Exact against the word list it ships with: every word shown satisfies every clue you entered, and repeated letters are counted rather than guessed. The list is the public-domain ENABLE dictionary, not the game's own answer list, so a word here may not be accepted and today's answer cannot be known from this page.
